He has had a varied career and has worked to support children and young people in a wide variety of settings including Feltham Young Offenders Unit.  More recently he has worked primarily for a variety of NHS trusts including SLAM, as a CAMHS Practitioner. He currently also works as a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse on a local Paediatric Ward.

Over the years he has been involved in assessing and managing complex cases including the following presentations: low self-esteem, anxiety, ADHD, depression, OCD, eating disorders, self-harm, ASD and psychosis.   His role has necessitated providing consultation to other professionals and offering direct assessment and treatment to young people and their families.
He is particularly interested in working with young people with depression and anxiety and has extensive experience of this through his work in a community CAMHS setting.

Taka has co-facilitated parenting programs using the Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P) and Strengthening Families as well as the Strengthening Communities (SFSC) parenting program. This enables him to work very effectively with parents and children struggling with neurodevelopmental difficulties.
