Assessments

At Heads and Hearts, we understand that parents want their children to be happy and thrive both at home and in education. We also understand that at times parents have worries about their child’s development.

We are able to offer assessments which will address these concerns and provide guidance as to the way forward. We are fortunate to have a group of professionals who can provide assessments in the following areas:
assessment notes
  • Neurodevelopmental Disorders
  • Depression
  • Psychosis
  • Anxiety Disorders, eg. social anxiety, generalized anxiety, phobias and panic attacks
  • Obsessive Behaviours
  • Sleep Disturbance
  • School Refusal
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Behavioural Problems
  • Trauma
  • Self Harm & Suicidal Ideation
  • Low Self Esteem Trauma
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Infant Mental Health
  • Bereavement
  • Separation and Divorce
  • Attachment Difficulties
  • Educational Placement Support
All of our assessments take an holistic view of the child or young person and we work in partnership with parents. Our aim is to help parents have a full understanding of all of the reasons their child is behaving as they are. Sometimes this may be due to a specific developmental difficulty, but in our experience, this is not always the case.

We know for example that with some conditions there is a greater chance of co-morbid features. Sometimes, the child is using behaviour as a communication for unhappiness within the context of family, social or school difficulties. You can be confident that we will look at all of these factors to offer a fully comprehensive assessment.
